I was just taking pix of some babies for prospective owners. One is in my album, it just came out really cute, mostly because she is young and sat still!
So, shooting these babies, the Teddy was rambunctious--I had to squish him down with my hand and take it off at the last minute to get him to stay still. This movement can make me blur the pix, of course, not to mention the piggy doesn't look his best. Oh well. We can't all be models, LOL.
The one Texel sow was almost as bad but when I squished her together she sat there for a few seconds so I could hit the shutter after I'd taken my hand away and not during! She was one of those who want to look into the lens and I have a lot of weird big-nose blurry shots.
The other Texel sat quietly after I placed her back a few times. Her picture came out nice and she's the one in the album.
After shooting I fed them hay. All the Teddies are standing on dishes, each other, etc. as close as they can to where I'm gonna put the hay in. A couple adults aren't bothering to wheek, since the youngsters are screaming enough for all. The old girls aren't quiet as excited--they look up and maybe stand up for a second but are pretty patient for Teddies.
One young sow continues to wheek even after I put her hay in, because she sees me still feeding the others. What do you want from me, caviar???
The cage of Texels wave their heads around but they don't wheek and they don't freak out and push and stand on each other. They wait pretty patiently and are on the end so they're almost always the last to be fed.
The differences are inherent in the breeds. Texels can be quiet to the point of boring, and Teddies can be too rambunctious, but a young Texel cuddled in your lap is such a cutie, while the same age Teddy will be licking hands, nibbling zippers, etc.
I love both their temperaments. Pigs just wanna have fun.
I think most of my longhairs have ADHD! Mine HATE sitting still, besides for a very select few. Mine are kicking up their heels all over the place when I'm trying to get photos. Or they get distracted by the carriers/objects around the photo shoot setting. Or, even worse: a boar starts smelling what sows have been there before him and has some decisions to make: to pee or not to pee? *shakes head* I see longhairs at shows that just SIT there like a wig. I always think "How in the heck can they stand being so still?! Mine would rather flirt with the sow/boar next door, try to eat something, or just go on an adventure." I mean most of them are boars and are RIGHT next to a sow and they just SIT there! I guess mine are just the type that like to cause all the other longhairs to start acting up like hyper little monsters. :-P They've done that before and it was rather amusing.
Most of the Abys & Aby Satins I've had are HYPED up and ready to bounce around. They're like little 4-year-olds on a sugar high!
Besides most Aby/Satins, I've really never found much of a difference in breed personalities, personally. I have some Texels that are calm, while others are ready to rip around the building in record time; Coronets that would rather bounce around the place, while others will sit still; Peruvians that would rather look like walking wigs with a mouth high in the air, and then ones that sort of sit still. I've always found that the Teddies have a bit of a hyper personality like you've said, though. They've got a cute personality! :-)
Actually, I am glad that most of my longhairs don't just sit around like a bunch of wigs, or else they'd really bore me, but at times it'd be NICE if while I was grooming them, they'd just sit there, and not try to turn around and give me the evil eye or wonder what I was up to.

I should have added texels are usually sweet until you start yanking on them a bit to remove mats. Then they sprout teeth like a shark and I have to dodge, LOL. Fortunately they forgive (or forget, LOL) quickly. And I never groom on a show board, that helps them not think they're gonna get their mats removed.

we notice a lot of the same thing - baby wc's are BRATS! they never hold still LOL
as adults though they tend to like to snuggle and just sit on you. The Americans are silly no matter what age. The texels we have here now are complete divas one and all! Chubb loves nothing more than to sit in a lap and watch TV while Poppy prefers sitting on your shoulder nuzzling a neck.
Juniper is a brat all the way around...she doesn't seem to like anyone in her face - except in her cage then she's all up in whom ever's face comes near! *including the dog!*
they are silly critters for sure
